Methodist Stone Oak Hospital Begins Employee Recruitment through Unique Shared Employee Program

This article posted on: April 20, 2007

Methodist Healthcare is proud to say that construction of Methodist Stone Oak Hospital is well underway and should be completed by the end of 2008. In typical Methodist fashion, this won’t be “just any other hospital”—it will be a “hospital of the future,” prepared to deliver the next generation of health care to residents in the northern part of the city.

The Hospital of the Future design will include components that allow for easy access, easy expansion and enhancements that result in less frustration for patients, their families and friends, as well as more efficient care. Phase One plans for the campus encompass an initial 132-bed tertiary care hospital with outpatient services, and a 125,000-square-foot physician office building. The overall master plan includes the possibility of as many as 350 beds with an additional 100,000-square-foot physician office building. From the minute the doors open, the hospital will include the latest technology and health information systems designed to deliver quality care and patient safety.

The facility will be a regional health care destination for tertiary care services in virtually every service line. That necessitates the hiring of hundreds of trained health care professionals to be in place even before the hospital is open to the community.

Methodist is currently seeking dedicated, skilled employees to be part of the new Methodist Stone Oak Hospital team. We invite interested health care professionals to come hear about a unique opportunity: the “Methodist Stone Oak Hospital Shared Employee Job Program.” Under this program, candidates can apply for and be hired as employees of the new Methodist Stone Oak Hospital now, and be assigned to the facility when it opens its doors in late 2008. In the interim, shared employees will be assigned to other Methodist Healthcare facilities, and have the opportunity to learn our values, systems and operating procedures. Interested individuals have the choice of being placed at one of Methodist Healthcare’s seven hospitals, located in various sectors of San Antonio.

The shared employee job program also offers the opportunity for employees to be able to provide a voice and input to the new Stone Oak facility through quarterly meetings with the Methodist Stone Oak leadership team.

To learn more about this exciting program, please join us on May 8, 2007, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at The Club at Sonterra. You will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Dean Alexander, CEO of Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and hear more about the facility and the Shared Employee Program, the only job program of its kind that allows you to secure a job position before a hospital is even open.

Please consider working for Methodist Healthcare, the most preferred health care system in the region. Join us on May 8 to learn how you can be part of the Hospital of the Future. Please register in advance by calling the Methodist Healthcare HealthLine at 210-575-0355 or 1-800-333-7333, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M.
